We took Mark to his neurosurgeon today. The MRI results were fine – so now we have an appointment for an ENG – nerve conduction test. He’s had two before, so he knows what to expect.
I brought homework home because we left work early and I didn’t have time to get grading done this afternoon. I was a little unhappy with the discussion we had in one of our classes this morning. I kept feeling like no one knew what I was talking about – hence, I am making a test. I need to know that they read the material and fully understand it. Right now, I am unsure if most even read the entire book. So, we’ll see…
They say the weather should start cooling down by the end of this week – maybe only in the 80s. Anything under 90 will be welcome. I still have the A/C going. It’s still so hot and muggy. And here I am longing for some hot tea, but I’m afraid I’ll get all sticky and sweaty again. I will probably hop in the shower and snuggle in my jammie THEN have a cuppa. I am drinking iced tea now. This is the first summer I have had my iced tea maker – I wonder how long before I don’t have the hankerin’ for some iced tea. I’m sure there will be a time when I just feel like water for a cool drink, and hot tea for everything else. In my new office (if/when I get it) I will have a little kitchen area set up for teas and my electric kettle and everything. I can’t wait. I am trying to find something cute to store my teas in. I have a cute little box thingy, but it’s painted, and I’m afraid it’ll make the tea smell like paint since I can smell the pain on the box now. I probably won’t risk it.
Okey dokey – off to shower, jammie it up, boil water, and work on homework. If that gets done, I’m gonna knit.

It’s still so freakin’ hot around here. I hope it ends soon. I’m so very ready for fall. Every time I think it’s here then the temp shoots up to a 100. It’s wearing me out. We have a doctor’s appt for Mark tomorrow. So we’re leaving a little early. Today after work we are going to the gym to sign up. Good for us, huh? We’ll see….this is the second time we’ve signed up in a year. Just couldn’t do it the first time. There we were spending the money and not going. So I cancelled. Let’s see if we can stick with it this time? I hope so, but who the heck knows? I got a good part of my homework done at work today. So tonight I need to cook dinner, clean the bathrooms, call my mom, and I hope to get some knitting and reading in too. Ok, back to work – gotta get stuff done! |

I’m gonna have to take my laptop into school and have them fix it. It’s running slowly and pop-ups are taking over my life. I was reading blogs and suddenly – I got tons of odd pop-ups about sypware. Now I can’t get rid of them. I’ve run some spy sweeper stuff and it’s cleaned up some of it, but there seems to be more stuff lurking around in here. You know how you can tell you’ve got something you shouldn’t have? Well, I can tell.. I hope they can clean it up quickly and get my laptop back to me ASAP. I have lots of online class stuff that I need to do this week.
I probably won’t be blogging till Monday morning at work when I have access to a “clean” PC. I do have work to do tonight – but I might use Mark’s computer so I don’t have to mess this thing up any more than it already is.

have such a naughty little kitty. But I love her. She was peeing in the corner of the dining room. So, I have purchased product after product to clean it and keep her from going there again. Nothing was working. I was getting mighty tired of cleaning the carpet every day. Well, I am pretty meticulous about her litter area, and I scoop every time she goes. I clean everything out once a week. And once a month I replace the entire box. So I always have extra boxes on hand. I decided to put one in the dining room. Guess what? She loves it! The moment I got it set up she came waltzing in the dining room and walked right to the box and used it. I cannot figure her out. Nothing has changed with her old litter area. I guess she wants two bathrooms. We have three bathrooms in our house, so I guess she wanted two of her own. I don’t know… She sure is spoiled though. Now, my big problem – I have a litter box in my dining room! It’s better than her peeing in the corner though.

Here is today’s Friday Forum:
1. Starting with your head down to your toes, what health/beauty products have you used/applied to your body so far today? [For example, shampoo, toothpaste, makeup, cologne/perfume, nail polish, etc.]
Good God! Ok – here goes. Garnier shampoo, Pantene conditioner, Aussie spray gel, White Rain hairspray, Biore moisturizer, Revlon foundation, Covergirl powder, Clinique blush, Smashbox eye liner, Revlon eye shadow, Covergirl eyebrow liner, Bath and Body lotion, Suave shower gel, Cetephil face soap,Secret deodorant. That’s so far today – golly that’s a lot!
2. Do you have a ritual when you take a shower, such as washing your hair first or maybe even brushing your teeth in the shower? If so, what? Do you prefer baths or showers, usually?
I always shower. I shampoo, condition (every other day) wash body, shave(if needed), wash face. And I’m done.
3. How do you get yourself up and going in the mornings? Coffee? A hot shower? Breakfast? Would you consider yourself a morning person at all? When do you usually get up?
I have no idea how I get up in the mornings – it’s always a miracle. But, once I’m out of bed I’m fine – it’s just the act of lifting my head that wears me out. During the week I’m up at 6!! Ick! During the weekends – usually between 9 and 10. I CAN be a morning person, but not always.
4. Do you normally eat breakfast? What do you usually have? Do you usually make it at home or go out for breakfast, or do you prefer not to eat breakfast?
I MUST eat breakfast or I start to feel sick. I either eat cereal at home, or grab McDonalds (wow, that’s healthy, huh?)
5. What does your alarm clock sound like? A buzzer, music, or something else? Do you ever set your clock fast so that you push yourself to get ready sooner? Are you usually on time, late, or somewhere in-between?
I have mine set to music – it’s less evasive. I have to set my alarm one hour before I need to get up. So, during the week, I set it for 5 and snooze for an hour – crazy, huh? I am almost always way early for things.

As usual – the best laid plans…. So last night I ended up going home, Mark fixed dinner, I did some housework, slept for half an hour, talked to my mom for an hour on the phone, then did homework till bedtime. Which is fine, just not what I originally planned. That happens a lot though.
I’m not even going to venture what I’m going to do tonight then. Who knows. I am actually working ahead on stuff here at work. I am getting things together for my spring online class. Why am I doing it now? Because the IT people here LOST everything of my past classes when they did something to the server. Sooooo, I have to spend this semester making up the whole class again from scratch. That’s taking some time. But I’m doing it.
I’m also working ahead on stuff at home. I have a personal rule that Christmas shopping needs to be done by Halloween. It will be. I’ve only got 3 more things to buy – then I’m done! I’ll buy them in October then be finished. I know some people freak out about me shopping so early. But hell, I’m out shopping all the time, so I just pick up stuff here and there, and before I know it – I’m done! I don’t think it takes any fun out of Christmas for me – it lets me enjoy it more rather than stress about time and money. I know December can be a tough month financially for people, but it doesn’t affect us since we shop all year long. I love having everything done early. It actually relaxes me.
Still no word on my new office. I am trying to stay optimistic about it – but who knows. I need to spend a good part of the day working ahead on some class work. That shouldn’t be that bad though. I think I’ll just take it easy and work leisurely. I don’t have any classes today, so I have lots of free time.

Well, we had our meeting and it went well. I was pushy and funny. So it kind of balances it out. I’ll keep you posted – my immediate boss jokingly called me “Little Miss Pushy-Pants” after the meeting. I was pushy, but – you gotta be sometimes. I hope it works!!!!
