1. What does it say in the signature line of your emails? At work, just my name, Bethanie Frank. At home – Check it out! http://www.markfrankplays.com – my husband’s site for his book.
2. Did you have a senior quote in your high school yearbook? What was it? If you haven’t graduated yet, what would you like your quote to be? No, we had over 600 kids in my graduating class we barely knew each other anyway.
3. If you had vanity plates on your car, what would they read? If you already have them, what do they say? I think something like DRAMA or something theatre related.
4. Have you received any gifts with messages engraved upon them? What did the inscription say? Not really, but I did a shirt that says “Princess” on it for Christmas.
5. What would you like your epitaph to be? Oh man! That’s a tough one. Actually, probably nothing but my name and dates.

I am so looking forward to our three day weekend. That will be nice. I have plenty of reading for work and for fun to catch up on. Plus, I’m sure we’ll rent a couple movies. I know that Friday night we are breaking out the Blazing Saddles DVD and laugh our butts off. But, other than that one, I’m not sure what we’ll watch. We were laughing about something from Blazing Saddles the other day, then we promised each other that we would watch it this weekend. Mark is a HUGE Mel Brooks fan. So, who knows what will happen this weekend.
Oh, I also want to knit. AND I want to work on my quilt. I have my quilting class tonight. So, I plan on brewing some tea, grabbing my to-go cup and heading to class prepared to put my nose to the grindstone and get crackin’ on that quilt.
Other than all that, I have found that I am inspired by many things on the Internet. Crafting ideas, book reviews, music review, other people’s blogs. Everything. I really feel I’ve made a small change within myself since the new year. I feel more focused on things and have tried to spend time with myself doing things I like. It’s immensely relaxing. I love it. Bursts of creativity keep me going and feel oh-so much better when I’m creative rather than being a couch potato.

I am home alone again tonight. I have some online shopping I want to get done and then I guess I’ll call my mom and either knit or read. We’ll see.
I can not get over the temperatures here. It’s been like in the 50’s for weeks now. Which is unusally warm for this time of year for us. Mark has a conference coming up in Denver and he is thinking that just as he gets there, then the snow and cold will hit. Kind of a Murphy’s Law thing I guess.
I had cereal for dinner. That’s gotta be one of my all-time favorite dinners in the world. I just LOVE cereal. On the weekends – that’s about all I eat. Any kind – adult kind, kid kind, ones with toys, ones with fiber – you name it. My all-time favorite cereal is Cap’n Crunch Peanut Butter!!! Followed with a close second by Life. I would also have to have Cocoa Pebbles, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Grape Nut Flakes, Apple Jacks, Puffed Rice, Grape Nuts, Reese’s Peanut Butter, and Special K round out my top 10. I like to think of myself as a cereal connoiseur. At least I’m good at something, huh?

It’s Monday morning and I’m ready for the week. I was a super planner last night. I love to be organized. I made the menu for the week and got all my clothing ironed and ready to go. What a good feeling that is.
Last night was wonderfully relaxing – even though we need to have a moment of silence for the Chiefs and the Packers. I watched a movie and knit. Then I headed to bed about 8:30 and read till 11:00. I all ready to start a new book, but not tonight. We have auditions tonight. I will probably bring my knitting along. Mark actually does all the casting, he just likes me there to bounce ideas off of. I like it too. There’s a different kind of energy in the room during auditions.
I have lost a total of 5 pounds since the new year, and I’m not really doing anything. I am not snacking, drinking LOTS of water, and watching portion size. I’m just gonna keep doing what I’m doing and see what happens. Maybe some day I’ll exercise – heaven forbid! Not Bethanie!!!

I spent my afternoon watching “Annie Hall” and working on my scarf. I went to the store this morning and got my fabric and thread for my quilt. I still have some things I need to buy, but I can wait till next week. They really had a poor selection of fabrics so I ended up getting pinks. I think by the time it’s done it’ll look like a baby quilt. Which is fine – I can always give it as a gift. I really don’t think I’ll have any need for it.
I’m not sure what our plans are for tonight. Mark will be back from his conference soon and I don’t know if he’ll feel like going out or just staying in. We have tons of food here, so we could make something… Guess I’ll just wait and see how he feels.
Tomorrow I think I’ll watch the Chiefs game and grade papers. What a horrible teacher I am – assigning stuff on the first week of class. Tsk, tsk, tsk. This way it’s almost easier to weed out the serious students and see which kids thought the class was going to be a blow-off.
I think I may just shut my eyes till the dryer bell goes off. That ALWAYS wakes me up because it’s terribly loud!

2004-01-09T20:37:08.666-06:00It’s Friday night and I’m having a great time all alone – Mark is at a conference and will be home tomorrow. I rented a bunch of Woody Allen movies and am sitting back with my Diet Coke and my knitting. It’s awfully chilly and windy outside, so this seems blissful to me. The kitty is sleeping contently on the other side of the couch. We are happy. I also have some Yankee candles burning – ones that I got for Christmas, so of course, it smells fabulous in here. I will probably be up rather late, I want to get at least two movies out of the way. I’ll watch the other two tomorrow during the day. Mark tolerates my love of Woody Allen movies, but I enjoy watching them by myself because I know he’s not into it as much as I am.
Oh! I had my first quilting class last night. I am so terribly excited. I stayed up late last night too surfing for quilting patterns. I love the class, and the people are great. It’s beginning and intermediate together. So, some of the people are working on major projects while the rest of us are learning basics. It’s kind of inspirational because we saw all these fabulous pieces some of these women are making. Last night we learned to chenille. I have to go shopping tomorrow to by my flannel and some of the quilting tools that I don’t already have in my sewing box. I already found a pattern for my chenille quilt, and I found a pattern for a chenille scarf, and one for this cool rag quilt. I think that’s plenty for my class. We have to finish at least one major project by the end of the semester. I want to finish more than one! I figure if I go in there for the three hour class each week and seriously work I’ll get everything done. Some of these women do a lot of talking I’ve noticed. They’re like you’re typical “quilting bee” women. I want to pick a work station away from them so I’m not tempted to gab. A few women bring music and plug in their headsets. I think I may do that, but I’m afraid I’ll end up with too many cord, fabric and other crap in my lab that I’ll goof up. I may just sit in the back by myself. It was so inspirational I can’t explain. There’s just something about being around creativity – it lights a fuse in me and I LOVE that feeling!

Man, oh man – I have been busy today. I have about a half hour of down time right now. I also start my quilting class tonight. I would like to go home and change clothes and curl up, but I can’t. I can’t stop yawning this afternoon. It’s crazy. I suppose I need caffeine. Maybe I should run and get a Diet Coke or something….hmmm. I do have time to do that. I think I may…
Okey dokey – gonna get in the car and caffeinate myself. Sounds a little dirty, doesn’t it….

Today is the first day of school. I actually overslept by about 20 minutes. Oh well – not quite ready to get up so early. I brought some oatmeal to eat at my desk since I was running late. Then I’m gonna scarf down some raisins later because I have back to back classes till 12:30 – no break! I will always have to pack a snack or something, otherwise I’ll be raiding the machines.
I don’t watch lots of TV – in fact – it can go days without ever being turned on at our house – but we are both addicted to “The Real World”. Last night was the season premiere. We were all pumped. I like it – especially Frankie – the girl from KC (perhaps I like her so much because I’m from KC!! hmmmmmmmm).
I bought this creamer to put in my coffee – cinnamon -it’s icky. I don’t like it. I guess I’ll pour the whole thing out…No coffee for me this morning I guess. I may have to grab a Diet Coke to get me going.
My hands have been so dry with this cold weather – especially when I come in from outside. I carry Bath and Body stuff with me wherever I go – in my purse, my school bag – it’s in practically every room of the house. No one can say I don’t smell pretty…

Well, yesterday we were back at work for In-Service – no students. I think I’m ready to go bright and early Wednesday morning. I really do like the feel of the first day of classes. There’s a good energy that goes along with it. New students, new classes, everything is just real fresh and promising. I do have lots of work reading to do though. I will probably have to kick back and read this afternoon. I have a meeting shortly – then lunch, so I guess it’s a day of afternoon working. Fine by me – plus, I just realized that I’m leaving early for a nail appointment. Yippie!
Tonight I need to clean and start packing for Mark. He is leaving for a conference on Thursday, so I need to get stuff ready for him. It shouldn’t take too long. But I am going to be EARLY tonight. It’s frigid outside, so it’s lovely to be under the covers with a purring kitty. Last night was such a busy and hectic night for us that we barely got a chance to sit down. Tonight I want to knit and relax a little bit before bed. Doing something relaxing before bed really helps me out.
Well, I should prepare for my meeting. I need to get stuff together.
