After the show last night we went for a late dinner with a friend of ours that was in town. We had fun, but we were starting to yawn during our conversation, so knew it was time to head home. I got to sleep around 1 a.m. and got up this morning at 11. I love sleeping in! I had some tea and a pudding cup. Later on we’ll have lunch and then get ready for the show again tonight. Then we have to remember to change our clocks. Tomorrow morning, Mark has to go back to the theatre to strike the set with his students. Another one gone! Only one more show to do this semester! The end is near!
I haven’t done any homework this weekend, but it’s still early, I have time.
Oh, Mark bought a banjo off of ebay yesterday. I have no idea why. He doesn’t know how to read music or anything. He claims he’ll be able to start playing at no time at all. Now, I’m not a music know-it-all, but I can read music and play stuff. Without reading music – and I know he can’t play by ear because he’s tinkered with other instruments – I don’t see how he’s gonna get the banjo (of all instruments). You know how hard that one is to master?!?!? I’m not sure he realizes how hard that is going to be. He swears that this summer the two of us can “jam” together – he on banjo, and me on guitar. Oh my – I bet him that it wouldn’t happen. We’ll see, maybe he’ll prove me wrong and be a banjo prodigy. I’m very optimistic though…

I went to quilting class tonight and got a lot done. Sometimes I kick butt and other times I don’t get much accomplished. I think the whole class is moving slower than our teacher expected. We were expected to begin our next project next week, but we will have to wait another week. We’re slow learners. I have a good feeling when I’m there. It’s relaxing and comforting knowing I am creating something. I may not be the absolute best quilter on the planet but I do have fun and love learning something new. I do think I’m getting better and a little more confident, so that’s a good thing.
When I got home I started the dishwasher. When I came back around the corned there were suds everywhere. I said the hell with it. I let the whole thing cycle and them proceeded to mop up my sudsy floor. I figured, hey – why not use all that soapy water. So, now my dishes AND my floor is clean. I’m waiting for it to dry now. I really don’t know why it did that. This is the third time it’s done it though. We’ve had it for 7 years and it just seems to do it once every two years or so. No biggie.
I went to get my hair cut today and she styled it differently than normal – not bad. I don’t think I’ll do it that way again, it looked a little elegant – not really an “everyday” ‘do. I’ll just keep it the way it is for now and see what tomorrow brings. Sometimes my hair has a life of its own and does what it wants to without asking me. How dare it!

Mercy, was it hard to get up this morning for some reason. I’ve had a busy day, so there hasn’t been much time to rest. Boo-hoo. I had classes all morning, then I had a 1:30 meeting. At 3:30 I have a hair appointment – bangs are getting long. And, I have quilting class tonight. I will go to bed early! I hope. I think dinner will probably be oatmeal or something – that’s what I’m hungry for, so that could be the ticket. Mark has to stay at campus because he opens his show tonight, so we won’t be having dinner together tonight.
I hope to get much accomplished this weekend – namely crafts and some reading. I am behind on my reading. I’ve been dragging myself to bed with my book then end up petting the kitty and playing with her instead. She loves to pounce on your hand when you move it around under the covers. What a cutie bear.
Ok, my brain is kind of numb so I don’t really even know why I’m writing – boredom perhaps. sigh

I slept in about 30 minutes today – I could do that more often. I actually have a pretty free day today – can you believe it? I haven’t had a free day like this in ages. I do have lots of stuff I’ve been putting off till today, so I do have lots of desk work to do. Which is fine – it’s nothing icky.
I froze last night outside – the furnace kicked on in the middle of the night and I kept wondering what that sound was because it’s been awhile since the furnace has been going. And wouldn’t you know it – I just took off our electric blanket this past weekend. So, we ended up sleeping in the middle of the bed side by side. Kitty was jealous. So she slept up by my head. Why do kitties do that? It’s so cute.
I did some crafting last night. Kind of brainless while I watched Real World. I can’t help it, I’m addicted to it. I’ve never missed a season. I love them all. It’s just a big soap opera and goodness knows what a huge General Hospital fan I am – so this seems logical to me…
Must work, must work (the will be my mantra for today ) must work, must work…

I am just about ready to get dinner going at my house. And it prompted me to respond to one of Lisanne’s entries. She posted her shopping list and her total cost for two weeks worth of groceries for her and her husband. I read it, and thought – yup, looks about right. Then I read her comments and it seemed like a lot of people thought she spent way too much on groceries.
Whoa! Mark and I spend about $125 every two weeks. We too only shop once every two weeks. We never go to the store in between, if we’re out of something we make due with what we have. So, I did some adding. For two weeks, for the two of us that makes 14 dinners, 14 lunches (we don’t go out for lunch – sack lunches rule) and 14 breakfasts per person. So, just for fun, let’s say we take away two dinners and two lunches – perhaps we went out on the weekend. So, for the both of us that would make 24 dinners, ( I think you can see where I’m going with this), 24 lunches, and 28 breakfasts – for a grand total of 76 meals. If our average is indeed $125 per two weeks, we average $1.64 per meal. I think that’s freakin’ awesome! So if she and Jeff are only spending $107, then they’re spending even less.
I just had to get that off my chest because I’ve kind of been consumed with that for awhile because I know that we are smart shoppers – like tonight – it’s chicken pot pies. Yummy and cheap! I don’t think we do without, and we do buy name brand stuff for some items. We do get double coupons, which I use – and I buy things that happen to be on sale that week – like produce and meat.
So, now that you all know our shopping habits – and our eating habits too -I think we should all feel a little closer knowing such details about each other.
Off to put my dinner in the oven!

I’m home, and my work is done. I have no homework – teacher homework that is – and I’m done cleaning the bathrooms. Sooooo I guess it’s a crafting night for me!! I went to the library and got John Grisham’s Bleachers on CD to listen to. I think I’ll start that tonight – but, I went to amazon and read the reviews – lots of people didn’t like it boo-hoo. But, I’m going to give it a chance. I’ve always like Grisham, even the ones that aren’t law thrillers.
I do have to find some clipart or something for a project I’m working on for Mother’s Day. If I find the right thing I could get started on that tonight. Ok, now I wanna search for some clip art stuff – I’m all excited. Off I go!

Well, here I am – at my desk. Working once again. I can practically count the days till summer, but it barely seems like spring. Things are just now starting to bud and slowly turn green. Hard to believe that in a few months it’ll be hot. I’m not ready for that. I can take the cold more than I can take the heat. I sweat too much. Ick.
Mark is at jury duty today – he’s not too happy, but hey, another day off of work for him. So, I’m filling in on stuff for him and taking care of some of his work today. Nothing hard, just little busy work.
When I got in my office this morning – which I haven’t been in for a week – a roach was running across my desk. ICK! I am emailing maintenance and having them come spray. I don’t wanna drag those things home in my purse or something. I killed it. It was a young one, so that’s not a good thing. I already scrubbed my desk top – who knows what was walking around on here in the dark while I was gone???
Last night, Mark and I had trouble sleeping – probably because we’ve been getting up at 11 and napping in the afternoons, so going to bed last night at a decent hour didn’t work. We ended up talking and laughing in the dark till 1 a.m. Boy, the night goes quickly when you have to be up at 6. It’s gonna take me a few days to get back in the swing of things – my body isn’t used to alarm clocks right now. That’s gonna have to change.
Well, the pile on my desk is big – hopefully not roach filled – and I need to tackle it – I feel like I’m behind…
