I am busy! Things will slow down for me after tonight. Oy vey! We had an improv show last night. It went well – I think it was actually one of our best ones. That meant we got home late. Tonight I need to go to rehearsal and take notes on a dress rehearsal. It shouldn’t be long, but it just means I won’t be at home again tonight. I am gonna sleep in a little bit tomorrow. I need it!

I have been doing all my grading during the day so I can not worry about it at night. But tomorrow – can you slacker? That’s fine by me – it’s probably fine by the students too. I’m sure they won’t mind if I back off on assignments or something.

I told my students about my dad today – about him being gay. We were talking about if homosexuality is a choice or not. It’s NOT a choice, ok? Lots of the kids said it’s a choice, and they would stop being friends with someone if they found out that friend were gay? WTF? I don’t understand that? Not at all! I then asked about what happens if kids are raised by gay parents – most of them said that the kid has a greater chance of being gay and that the kid would have a messed up life. Well…that about did it. I had to spill my beans. I’m not ashamed of my dad – I just know lots of people tend to judge ME after they learn about him. But that just means they weren’t my friends to begin with. I prefer to hang around open-minded, non-judgmental people. So, the class sat in silence while I talked. They were staring at me with huge eyes. I’m sure some of them are probably afraid they’re gonna “catch” some kind of gay tendency just by being around me. I hope I dispelled some of their beliefs. They did eventually start asking questions. Which was good – none of the questions were judging – they were just basic – how did you cope? what now? kind of questions. I have no problem with my dad’s lifestyle. I really don’t. I choose to keep it quiet because of the strange people out there. My friends know – I mean, when say that I got a present from Dad and Jim, then they start to figure out stuff. The people that are my friends are cool with it and don’t treat ME odd. I have encountered some people that act like they wanna take a step back from me when they find out. Whatever? Oh well – hopefully my little life-story helped some of these kids – we’ll see..

Much mail goodness today! I love it when the mailbox is stuffed with fun things – like tea, goodies, magazines – no bills – yippie!

Shannon sent my Pampered Chef pizza cutter – that thing could be used as a deadly weapon! And I got these awesome earrings from her too! She said she the black and aqua ones were her fave – they’re mine too. I love how they change colors! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

ewww – that’s a crappy picture. Oh well, you get the idea.

Tonight we are going to dinner then we’re gonna see Shark Tales – I’m excited! Today I need to finish housework and get some of my homework out of the way – but I am first devoting time to blogging and emailing. Especially because I get to sip tea while I’m doing all this!

And, one last thing – I’m begging now. I only need ONE more!! I really would love an ipod.

I couldn’t resist – I was sitting on the floor taking pictures of the baby, and this is one where she reached up to touch the camera – how cute is this!!!

What a cutie bear!

Tonight I need to watch a DVD for school and that’s about it. So, I’ll just sit and knit. I am so glad it’s Friday tomorrow! I wish our school had a fall break. I could use one! This week was super long for some reason. The weather is incredible, and I’m mighty happy about that.

I stayed at home yesterday – not because I had the day off, but because I was on migraine recovery/prevention. I feel fine now. It’s just that when I get one that my meds don’t care of I am OUT for the next couple of days. It’s unreal. It’s also pretty scary – but I feel fine now.

The weather is FINALLY fall. It’s cool, it’s crisp. I still have the fan running in my office though. The leaves are starting to turn. I’m happy. But I wish I were sleeping better. I think most of it is my migraine – but I dearly love sleeping in this kind of weather.

I have a busy day today. I am booked up until 7:30 tonight. Then I’m coming home and taking a shower – putting on jammies – and relaxing!! I was on the computer almost all day yesterday. Sometimes I can surf for hours and other times it bores me. Yesterday it was rather entertaining.

So, let’s see if I can get everything done today – tomorrow will be much easier.

I had a major migraine on Saturday. The whole day was shot. I was down from noon till five. Then I ended up going to bed by 9:30 because I felt like a truck ran over me. But I’m totally fine now!!

Look what we got!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen – a Sony cybershot with 5.1 megapixels. Rock on!
I will probably be dragging it with me where ever I go from now on. I may become a photo-whore.

This week has been crazy long for me. I am soooo ready for the weekend. Fridays are excellent for us. We have such a fun routine. Our last class on Friday is from 1-2, but we usually get out around 1:30. Then we pack up for the day. We go to the same place for lunch – ok a late lunch – then we come home and do odds and ends like – mail, email, random cleaning. Then we take a nap together for about an hour. Then we get up and lounge around and visit. Then we go out for a late dinner. But tonight we must be home in time for the debates. We are gonna finish eating – come home – I’m gonna put on jammies – we’ll brew a pot of coffee – I’ll paint my toenails then knit – all while we watch the debates. We talk to the TV so much it’s crazy.

The whole voting thing has been awesome on our campus. Lots of the kids are more involved than I thought they would be. They are paying attention and asking questions. It’s hard to remain perfectly biased. I want them to make their own decision – whatever that may be. We have registered tons of kids on campus – now on the 2nd, we need to make sure they get their butt out and actually vote. The polling place is directly across the street AND all absentee ballots are being mailed by the college, so they won’t have to pay postage (I know it’s only a few pennies, but hey, they’re college kids). I just hope the numbers are huge! I can’t wait to see how many people actually vote AND how many people are first-time voters.

My mind has been elsewhere lately. Not sure where – but not here. I have been a knitting fool lately. Tonight I plan on devoting much time to finishing up the ruana. I want to read some blogs to get caught up, then sit down and work. I know this isn’t my craft blog, but I am already preparing myself for the project after my poncho. Busy, busy, busy. I like that though. I am trying to stay focused, but this week is going unbelievable slow for me. I keep looking at the clock and time is moving so slowly for me this week. I feel like I’ m in a bucket of jell*o. So, I’m not gonna write much tonight.

But first, this:

HASH(0x8b5d2f0)
You are RACHEL RAY, host of “$40 a Day”
and “30-Minute Meals”. Youre zany,
just a little bit dorky, but you know your
stuff. You show quick and easy meals that dont
break your budget. You also love to travel,
and hunt for the most fun and the best deals.
You obviously love having fun and love showing
others how to have fun. Youre adventurous and
happy-go-lucky, yet way frugal and thrifty.
Good job!

That’s almost a little too perfect for me! Thanks for the link Hannah!

ok, I need help – let me know which type of digi cam to get AND which type to not get. I’ve started a little research of my own, but I thought I’d ask for your opinions. I want EASY. We do not need any bells and whistles. It’s mostly used by me (since Mark’s phone has a cam) – I use it for blog stuff, and basic picture taking – though I’m not a fanatic and can go days and days without using it. The one we had was a gift, so we didn’t pick out any features. Ok, what do ya’ say?
